Pig in Boots raising funds for FCN!
A piglet scared of wallowing in mud has been given some tiny wellington boots, and in the process has been raising funds for FCN.
Cinders the piglet belongs to Debbie & Andrew Keeble from Thirsk in North Yorkshire, and she has become a bit of a super star after appearing in the national press in her new wellies!

Debbie & Andrew run a sausage company from their farm, and their special recipe sausages are available in many supermarkets. They have chosen FCN as their charity for the year. Not only has Cinders the piglet been raising funds, but they also have plans for a season of welly wanging competitions this summer. Keep a look out for them at shows around the country. You can see the list of shows they will be attending on Debbie & Andrew’s website by clicking here

FCN ready to help farmers affected by Avian Influenza
FCN volunteers are ready to provide help and support to farmers affected by the recent Avian Influenza outbreak in Oxfordshire and the associated movement restrictions.
It is hoped that the confirmed outbreak will not spread further so that disruption to poultry farmers will be limited, at what is already a difficult time for many with the increasing cost of feed.
FCN’s Helpline is available from 7am-11pm every day on 0845 367 9990, and a visit from a local FCN volunteer will be offered wherever possible or appropriate.
FCN volunteers across the UK are continuing to provide help and support to many farming people affected by Bluetongue disease movement restrictions as well as delayed Single Farm Payments. Currently FCN is receiving three times the number of calls to its Helpline compared with the same period last year, and the high workload looks set to continue for some time.
